Whow!!!! what a great day 7 Rally Trucks and 5 Shineys, good hazards and excellent spectators sites. We ended up with Neil and Rob with mechanical problems.

Fourth round of club champs was held 8km up Uriti Road on Ian and Justine Howe’s property. They let us loose on a bit of dirt not ideal for grazing (rushes, mounds, knobs) but perfect for tearing up with our trucks. We had 11 trucks start the day under inclement conditions expected to deteriorate later.

Second round of club champs was held 5km up Okoki road on Ray Bryant’s property. The morning dawned on us a bit chilly but as soon as the sun poked its head over the hills things started to warm up.

Hazards we had 12 of them with one speed section, they were a variety of them with being steep, tight turns and slippery, with Bucky having trouble keeping his truck on all 4 wheels rolling over twice for the day, also Neil Moratti rolling over too, not in the hazard.

The 15th of May saw two club events on the go. A lot of you went to challenge Wanganui for the annual interclub event, but also happenning that day was the wedding of our Club Captain and Treasurer, Matt and Dee.

Mt Egmont Vs Wanganui
Some hardcore Mt Egmont Club members were on a mission to defend and retain the Trophy. This year it was an “away game” as it was Wanganui’s turn to host this annual event. Their chosen venue was at Waitotara on the Hawkins Property: the same farm as used for their 2008 challenge.
