Information on how to join the club.

Whether you've just bought yourself a Four Colour 1973 Toyota Landcruiser off Trade-Me for $500 bucks, or you have a Porsche Cayenne, you will enjoy being a member of NZ's best four wheel drive club.

Your membership for a year will cost you the princely sum of $75 for the whole family (you, partner and dependents under 18 yrs). What do you get for that $75? Well if you are lucky you will feature on our website on the album pages driving your vehicle, but more than that you are privy to some of the most spectacular scenery and 4WD territory in Taranaki and indeed the rest of NZ.

The Mt Egmont 4WD Club has a good reputation throughout New Zealand as being a responsible, good humoured, hard working bunch of people who enjoy off-roading, telling the odd lie around the camp fire, or perhaps cafe (for our gentler members) and for competing with the best in the country at national Level in rallies and winch challenges.

We endorse the National Association's motto of "Tread Lightly" as we are very appreciative of the land access we have been granted by both the private and public sector.

Our runs are varied from a Grade 1 which is generally very picturesque sealed and gravelled roads, right through to Grade 5 which is for vehicles with full roll cages/harness/helmets who tackle terrain which most mountain goats would think twice about attempting!

The club has a social club night on the second Monday of each month which are always well attended and enjoyed, where we recall the past months events/runs, and show some very entertaining videos of our club members and the antics they get up to whilst 4WDing.

For the kids there is no better all inclusive family sport to be found. When we have weekend or longer runs we stay in the countryside or at camp grounds, enjoying barbecues, and games. The children always manage to find the odd water bomb or water gun to entertain their parents with - and not a television in sight!

All prospective members are asked to take part in two runs and one club meeting before full membership is considered, then granted. This is to ensure that the new member is comfortable in the driving conditions they will encounter.

We offer safety and driving technique days for all our members, as safety is paramount whenever behind the wheel of any vehicle.

If this has got your interest then get into contact with the club to find out more. Or you can fill out a membership application form, send it in to us and we'll get into contact with you.
